The Owners

Earthstones is owned and operated by Marty & Jan Janczak & family. They have a strong background in construction and small business. Marty believes in "doing your homework" and thus spent quite a bit of time researching the right location, equipment, and staff for the business. Starting as a small "Mom & Pop" operation in April 2000, the company now employs 22 people and primarily serves the high end and mid-range residential market surrounding Temple. We work in a 90-mile radius, covering Crawford to College Station to south Austin and all surrounding areas. The staff plays an important role in educating our clients about all types of natural stone as well as engineered stone products.

Marty and Jan were not born in Texas, but got here as soon as they could!
They moved to Temple, Texas in 1977 and have raised 4 sons, and presently have 3 grandchildren. Marty completed 35 years of active and reserve duty in the United States Navy, retiring as a Rear Admiral. As you might imagine, Earthstones has many of the professional characteristics of a Navy warship. Characteristics such as integrity, punctuality, and efficiency.

Marty and Jan are well-respected members of the community and are committed to give back to a community that has been so good to them. They believe in preserving the quality of life offered in Temple as the community grows. Marty has and continues to work directly with the City of Temple to preserve Temple's charm and character as a premier place to live in Central Texas. He is involved in various community organizations including positions on the boards of Temple Area Home Builders, Temple Economic Development Commission, Temple Chamber of Commerce and the Temple Re-investment Zone #1. Professionally, he is on a national advisory board for Park Industries, a well-respected equipment company in Minnesota.

In 2004, Earthstones spread their wings to Austin, where they opened their sister company, ARTISAN CABINETRY & DESIGN. Artisan is an upscale design showroom offering the finest of factory manufactured and finished cabinets. We invite you to visit their website at HTTP://www.artisancd.com for additional information.

While it has always been so, early in 2006, Earthstones became officially certified by the State of Texas as a "Woman Owned Business". This recognition applies particularly to our commercial line of business where we have provided our products and services to a convention center, a municipal police station, several hotels and other commercial entities.

Also in 2006, we were honored with a visit by First Lady Laura Bush and were privileged to provide natural stone to the Bush Ranch in Crawford.

We are "Traditionalists" when it comes to products we specify and sell. Natural stone is an original piece of art. When Jan goes to select stone for a client, it is like going to an art gallery! One of their clients stated, "When I saw these natural stones, and that no two pieces would be exactly the same, there was no question I would choose stone. If I could hang it on the wall, I would."

Earthstones believes that they are not just a part of designing a space, but creating an environment that reflects the personality, emotions, and values of their clients. Helping clients to express their interests and values can be the most challenging part of the job, but is an essential part of creating a home that is true to them. We understand and respond to the specific needs of our customers who purchase and benefit from our products and services. Once an area is complete and reflects the personalities and tastes of the client, it is very rewarding for all.

Now, having expounded the virtues and beauty of natural stone, Engineered stone (quartz) and marble definitely have a place in Earthstones' business plan. These man-made products are designed to emulate the colors and textures of natural stone but with a consistency and quality control of a factory manufactured product. Every client is offered choices of engineered stone for their individual application. Choice is certainly determined by the client.

IN CONCLUSION

We will give advice, that were we in similar circumstances, we would apply to ourselves. We believe that effectively accomplishing our mission will provide exceptional levels of reward for our customers and ourselves.
